Girls Just Wanna Run

This year Rick’s Automotive will be presenting the Girls Just Wanna Run 5K+10K. The run will take place on July 16th at 7:30, located at Cox North Fountain Plaza at Lynn and Jefferson in Springfield.

Pick your distance with a 5K or 10K option. Start and finish at Cox North Fountain Plaza. A fast, scenic course through Springfield's historical neighborhoods makes for an enjoyable run.

There will also be a Fun Before the Run Expo presented by Arvest Bank, July 15, 2-6 p.m. at The Meyer Center, located at 3545 S. National. You will be able to pick up your participant packet including race number, women’s tech shirt, and visit more than 30 vendor booths. Refreshments provided by Domino’s and Mexican Villa.

The Fun Before The Run Expo includes over 30 vendors (with swag!), food, chair massages and door prizes. With an average of 1,000 participants, this ladies only 5K/10K walk-run is now the largest in the state of Missouri featuring awards, food and prizes. Participation medals are given at the finish line. Girls Just Wanna Run benefits the CoxHealth Fit Life Program for rehab and wellness patient.

Some things to remember before the run:

• Children under 5 may participate at no charge, but will not receive a shirt and bag
• No furry friends allowed
• Participants with strollers and walkers should start at the back of the group
