Are you looking for a fun new way to gain ideas for meals? Hy-Vee offers a variety of cooking classes for many different age ranges and interests! Hy-Vee chefs hold classes that cover culinary skills such as knife cutlery, stocks/stews, seafood cookery and more!
Fast, Fresh & Delicious
This class focuses on healthy recipes that are fast and delicious! Each month is a fun new theme such as spring brunch! Cox college dietetic interns and Hy-Vee dietitian and/or chef will demonstrate 4 recipes. Each attendee receives samples of recipes and copies of the recipes to take home. Cost of this class is $10.
Kids in the Kitchen
This class is designed for kids ages 4-12, they make 4 recipes and discuss “new foods” (i.e. star fruit, jicama, purple carrots, etc.) Currently the cost is $8 and is a great way to give kids the hands on experience in the kitchen!
Diabetes and Gluten free
Hy-Vee offers a Diabetes and Gluten free support group, which meet on alternating months. They go over healthy recipes that meet their dietary needs, and attendees will receive samples and recipes. In addition they hold class discussion on various topics such as eating out, healthy snacking, label reading, holiday cooking and more. Cost is free of charge.
Get your friends and family together and set up your own private cooking class! Hy-Vee offers kids birthday parties, hands on cooking classes which are followed by a "family style" meal, freezer meal classes (Meals are assembled and taken home for freezing. When ready to cook, ingredients are placed in slow cooker), lunch and learns, and more! Cost varies depending on type of class.
