Men’s Health Week

June 8, 2023, 2:46 pm

Men’s Health Week is June 12-18, 2023. The goal of men’s health week is to increase the awareness of preventable health problems, urge men and boys to take charge of their overall health by implementing healthy living decisions and encourage early detection and treatment of disease among men and boys.

According to U.S Department of Health and Human Services, in the U.S, the life expectancy for men is nearly six years less than women, and non-Hispanic Black American Indian/Alaska Native men have a lower life expectancy than non-Hispanic white men. Diseases like heart disease and cancer are preventable through regular doctor’s visits and healthy lifestyle choices.

Eating healthy, regular exercise, and annual checkups with your healthcare provider are steps that can be taken to help improve health and prevent health issues.

June 16th is Wear Blue Day to help raise awareness about male health and encourage men to live longer and healthier lives.
